Happy New Year!

Just as day follows night, New Year follows Christmas. We returned from our New Jersey trip and were ready for New Year. But, truth be told, I was pretty tired with all the travelling. And Amma was worried that my routine was quite disturbed. Translated, it means that she was worried that I wasn't eating on time, sleeping on time etc etc.

In the meanwhile, Akhila Aunty called us and told us that they would be visiting us for New Year. She has 2 kids - slightly older than me. Saatvik and Aarush. I was happy that I would have some company.

Girish uncle also was planning to join us for New Year. That would be even better! Akhila Aunty, Sarma Uncle, Girish Uncle and Radhika Aunty. And Saatvik and Aarush. That would be good company. I needed to be my best in front of such a big gathering.

But as luck would have it... Girish Uncle had to change their plans. Which meant that they wouldn't be able to come. Akhila Aunty's decided to come visit us - and then go to Detroit to spend New Year with Girish Uncle's.

Didn't matter to me. I had a great time with Saatvik and Aarush. I learnt a few tricks from them. Like, how to climb onto my car without falling. I have been practising it ever since.


And what did we do on New Year's night? I slept much before midnight. Amma and Nanna watched as movie - Mummy 3. A scary beginning to them :-)

A lot of you remember Chak de India as a great movie. Cricket fans will remember it as something that inspired the Indian cricket team to victory. A lot has been said about the movie... but you will all forget it. But I wouldn't. I will always remember Chak de India as my first movie in a cinema. Christmas plan

It's Christmas time. And everyone in the US spends Christmas with their family and friends. We are no different and decided to do the same. So, where do we go to? After checking the maps, distances, airports, air fares and a lot of other factors, we finally decided on going to Ravi Mama's place in NJ. That is short for New Jersey.  NJ is about 550 miles from our place - too far to drive with someone like me (that is, someone who doesn't like sitting in the car seat for extended periods of time - read here , here and here ). So, we were left with no other option but to fly. But the nearest airport is about 50 miles for us... and the nearest big-sized airport is about 100 miles for us (either Detroit, Dayton, Cleveland or Columbus). After using a computer to crunch out various combinations (just kidding), we decided on a reasonable, not-so-expensive route. Columbus - Philadelphia! Hello World...

I am Lasya Dhulipala. I came into this world on the 27th of June, 2007 at 14:32 CDT. For those of you statistically inclined, I weighed 7 lb 9 oz and measured 20.5 inches at birth. For those of you medically trained, I was delivered normally with Apgar scores of 7 and 9. The neonatologist had to check me because I pooped while in mommy's tummy. I love my mommy because she really really wanted me to come out early. But I was cross with daddy. He did not leave mommy's side to kiss me when the doctor with big spectacles and blue coat took me to check and clean. And what a cleaning it was. I was scrubbed clean (yuk, I hate that), made to wear one of those white shirts with a pink lining. How did those people know that I liked pink?
