NATA Swaramadhuri

Amma told me that NATA (North American Telugu Association) is holding an event in Houston - NATA 2012. They are holding a singing competition called Swaramadhuri. However, it is for only those who are older than 6 :-(

Amma spoke to the organizers and asked them if I could participate. I gave an audition... and was allowed to participate. This one is different from the others that I participated in. The songs are not on stage... but on skype! The singing would be broadcast live on Radio Tharanga.

I decided (actually, Amma decided :-)) to sing Chinni Chinni Aasa... from the movie Roja. Among the judges would be Ramachari uncle - who I watch on TV regularly. I was excited... but poor Amma and Nanna were nervous :-) I think their biggest challenge was to make me sit in front of the computer!!! I could tell that Tata and Mamma were nervous too - Tata more than Mamma :-)

Anyway, when it was time to sing, I thought I sang quite well. From the hugs and kisses I received from Amma, Nanna, Tata and Mamma... I am sure they thought so too. Here is the audio of the radio broadcast.

Christmas plan

It's Christmas time. And everyone in the US spends Christmas with their family and friends. We are no different and decided to do the same. So, where do we go to? After checking the maps, distances, airports, air fares and a lot of other factors, we finally decided on going to Ravi Mama's place in NJ. That is short for New Jersey.  NJ is about 550 miles from our place - too far to drive with someone like me (that is, someone who doesn't like sitting in the car seat for extended periods of time - read here , here and here ). So, we were left with no other option but to fly. But the nearest airport is about 50 miles for us... and the nearest big-sized airport is about 100 miles for us (either Detroit, Dayton, Cleveland or Columbus). After using a computer to crunch out various combinations (just kidding), we decided on a reasonable, not-so-expensive route. Columbus - Philadelphia! Hello World...

I am Lasya Dhulipala. I came into this world on the 27th of June, 2007 at 14:32 CDT. For those of you statistically inclined, I weighed 7 lb 9 oz and measured 20.5 inches at birth. For those of you medically trained, I was delivered normally with Apgar scores of 7 and 9. The neonatologist had to check me because I pooped while in mommy's tummy. I love my mommy because she really really wanted me to come out early. But I was cross with daddy. He did not leave mommy's side to kiss me when the doctor with big spectacles and blue coat took me to check and clean. And what a cleaning it was. I was scrubbed clean (yuk, I hate that), made to wear one of those white shirts with a pink lining. How did those people know that I liked pink?
