Christmas Trip (continued...)
Our Christmas trip was made even more special by another first. Amma and Nanna went to a movie while I stayed back! For those of you who know me, I have never been away from Amma or Nanna. I mean, not even for a few minutes. And now, they were planning to go watch a movie without me. That means, I had to spend almost 2 hours without them.
To call it a challenge would be an understatement. It was a challenge for Amma to leave me and watch the movie peacefully (Nanna probably wouldn't mind). It was a challenge for Ravi Mama and Rama Atta to babysit me - that would be the first time they 'managed' a kid for so long. And it was a challenge for me, obviously.
The planning was done. And we went to the theater just in time for the movie to start. Amma and Nanna got off the car. Ravi Mama, Rama Atta and I drove off to a mini-mall right across the street. The idea was that I would be distracted enough in a shop/shops to be manageable.
I knew that 4 pairs of eyes were watching my every move and that I had to live up to the challenge. Of course, being in a shop with lots of nice toys and pretty dresses helped too :-) And I must say, I passed the test with flying colors! It seems Amma and Nanna enjoyed their movie too. Something called Twilight.
We also went to Philadelphia. To meet Nanna's friends from college. It seems they had a mini reunion of sorts and I tagged along. I met another cute girl, Medha. And lots of other uncles and aunties. Here is the link to some of those photos.
All in all, we had a great time in New Jersey. I probably broke Ravi Mama's heart by not going to him as much as he would have liked. What can I do? I just don't like boys/men :-) But I think I more than made up for it by going to Rama Atta whenever I got a chance. She taught me some funny words. Like 'Yew' (for dislike). And 'sushi' (for fish). But Rama Atta did not let me help her clean her fish tank! She probably was afraid I would eat her sushi :-) Rama Atta also showed me her toy doggy. Which barked and somersaulted.
We also went on an extended trip to a local mall. A big one indeed. I drove my first mechanical car there. Ha! You won't believe that, will you? Here is the proof.

We rounded off our trip by meeting Amma's friend, Chaitanya. They had a lovely baby too, Vidya. Chaitanya Aunty gifted me a most wonderful పట్టు పావడ. Amma already made plans to make me wear that for Bhogi. I shall post those pictures soon.
From Chaintanya Aunty's house, we drove to Philadelphia again to catch our flight to Columbus. We did that with just a little more excitement - traffic jams and flight delays. But mercifully, I was asleep for most of the drive and flight - and reached Columbus as fresh as a daisy. From there, it was just another 2 hr drive to our house. And the holiday was over.
It is time for New Year celebrations!
